• What should I do at the airport with magnetic fasteners?

  Advanced Imaging Technology (AIT), now available at most airports, can facilitate your screening and reduces the likelihood of a pat-down. LS Adaptive’s magnetic fasteners are discrete and typically do not trigger airport security alarms. The magnetic elements will trigger metal detectors.

  If you choose to not be screened through the  Advanced Imaging Technology (AIT), or a walk-through metal detector (WTMD), you will probably be subject to a pat-down screening. If you have concerns, you may wish to inform security staff about your adaptive clothing.

• Are your products accessible for people with limited vision or cognitive challenges?

  Yes, our products are intentionally designed for ease of use, with intuitive fasteners and clear instructions.

5. Care and Maintenance

• Are LS Adaptive fasteners safe for people with medical devices (e.g., pacemakers)?

  Our fasteners are designed with safety in mind, nevertheless, the fasteners used in LS Adaptive’s solutions do use magnets. So, if you have a pacemaker or other medical device that is sensitive to magnetic fields, please consult your healthcare provider before use, and contact us for detailed product specifications.

  No, our fasteners are engineered for long-term use. Under normal environmental conditions, the magnets used in LS Adaptive clothing will maintain their strength and effectiveness. Hana Fasteners™ can last for decades unless subjected to extreme abuse or prolonged exposure to high temperatures (>100ºC, boiling water).

• How do LS Adaptive fasteners work?

  Our fasteners are designed specifically for use in adaptive apparel. They are low-profile, blend seamlessly into clothing, and provide a secure closure without adding bulk. We use properties inherent in magnet interactions to concentrate magnetic flux, increasing holding force and significantly improving resistance to lateral movement.
